Pokémon Go is an augmented reality (AR) game developed by Niantic for iOS and Android devices, initially released in select countries in July 2016. The game is the result of a collaboration between Niantic and Nintendo by way of The Pokémon Company.
The game uses the mobile device GPS to locate, capture, battle, and train Pokémon, which appear as if they are in the player's real-world location. The game is free to play but does have an in-app purchases for additional in-game items.

Microsoft have announced which titles have made the cut for the Xbox One’s Backwards Compatible games list. The gaming giants had revealed more than 100 potential games in November, although not all of these would be making the original December list. Rumor has it that Pokémon GO will be included on that list too!
Pokémon Go is one of this year’s most talked-about games despite only being announced in September. Pokémon Go is set to be released next year and will apparently be the most immersive game in the series yet.
But did you know that Pokémon game is also available through Minecraft game too? It’s called Pokémon Cobalt & Amethyst. Let’s keep reading for more details.
2. Full Pokémon Game Made in Minecraft:
First of all, you will need to know that Minecraft is a sandbox video game that allows players to build with a variety of different cubes in a 3D procedurally generated world. Other activities in the game include exploration, resource gathering, crafting, and combat.
For the past few years, we’ve seen quite a number of Minecraft mods become available, but very few have been quite as ambitious as this one – a full Pokémon experience, made in the vanilla version of the game.
Pokémon Cobalt & Amethyst isa brand-new Pokémon experience, unleashing 136 new creatures, a new region, and an original story, all inside of vanilla Minecraft.
In Cobalt & Amethyst adventures, players can capture and battle Pokémon, challenge gyms, and even compete in the Pokémon League. There are total 136 never-seen-before creatures waiting to be collected.
The map does also have a storyline too, during the game, Minecraft fans will be competing with the villainous Team Tempest to save the Pokémon world before a legendary darkness is released. There is a newly-composed, unique soundtrack also Available in the Minecraft/Pokémon game.
Minecraft is available now on Android and iOS devices, PC, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Wii U, Xbox 360, Nintendo Switch (TAB) and Xbox One. Players looking to download and install Pokémon Cobalt & Amethyst can do so from the Phoenix SC website.
Inspired by Nintendo’s beloved Pokémon franchise, Pokémon Cobalt and Amethyst is now available for download. This mod might be one of the most ambitious fan projects we’ve ever seen. Anyone interested in Cobalt and Amethyst may want to get it quickly, though - Nintendo has prior form in shutting down fan-project games.
Alongside with that, gamers could also go for Pokémon GO as an alternative choice. Different with Pokémon Cobalt and Amethyst, Pokémon GO won’t have any issue with Nintendo since this game is a collaboration product between Niantic and Nintendo.
